I have a major problem. I can’t seem to stop reading books. Fortunately for me, this is an essential part of my career as a middle school librarian. Unfortunately for me, being a middle school librarian does NOT mean sitting around reading all day. Reading review journals and blogs to find out what to buy for your students? Yes. Unpacking, cataloging, processing boxes of beautiful new and lovely books to get into the hands of your students? Yes. Hearing desperate recommendations from teachers and students of books you have to read? Yes. Adding to your TBR stack constantly without any true hope for relief? YES.

My job is the best, right?

With the best of intentions, I try to keep up with what I’m reading on this blog, not only to give back to the book blogosphere I so love, but also to help me process/create booktalks so I can get kids excited about reading. If there is one thing I love more than anything else, it’s getting the right book into the hands of the right kid and having them come back and tell me so. If even one of these reviews helps me do that, it’s worth it.
